 Michelle Lyte is a CAFTCAD Award-winning Costume Designer, Stylist, and Creative Director born in Georgetown, Guyana. Raised in a lineage of self-taught cutters and inspired by her aunt Joan, a graduate of the London College of Fashion, Michelle began designing garments at just 9 years old.

Her career launched through styling music videos before expanding into television, film, editorial, and celebrity styling. Michelle has worked with brands and productions including MTV Canada, Canada’s Next Top Model, The Handmaid’s Tale, Suicide Squad, The Best Man Holiday, and Suits.

As a Costume Designer, her credits include Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, In Contempt, In the Shadow of the Moon, Salt-N-Pepa, Kings of Napa, and the Emmy-nominated World’s Best. In 2020, Michelle received a CAFTCAD Award for her costume design work on Salt-N-Pepa.

Michelle is also the Founder and Creative Director of Myrtle & Oswald, a luxury fashion brand known for its signature Mongolian shearling designs, named after her maternal grandparents. Expanding her passion for style education, she also created the online course Discover Your Style.
